can you run a balanced flue gas fire from a cylinder?
i want to run a gas fire in a small apartment and don’t want the pollution and condensation caused by flueless bottle heaters. I can run a flue through one of the vents in the room but i would have to power it with cylinders as i have no mains supply.
Yup, you can buy them. The install is fairly simple but the insert and the double wall stainless steel flue isn’t cheap. If you desperately want one and the money is there, go for it. Expect to spend about 2,000 bucks. Why are you doing this, exactly?
Just do a google search for “propane fireplace.” Lots of manufacturers out there.

Accessorizing Your Nitrous Bottles
What can blue do for you? A lot actually, that is if the blue in question arrives on your doorstep in the form of nitrous bottles. But if you’re worried about the blue color clashing with your Purple Harley decal, rest assured. Custom manufacturers and designers have heard your concerns and responded in kind. Now you can also find the metal cylinders in cherry red, chrome, yellow, black, purple and white. It’s true. These powerful speed containers have become the must-have fashion accessory of the season.
All fun aside, the new trend in nitrous bottles is really just part of a natural evolution. American Architect Louis Sullivan said it best, “Form ever follows function.” The function of the devices is to boost speed. Mission accomplished. No one says you can’t look good while driving fast.
Color choice isn’t the only enhancement. The bottles now arrive in many different sizes, ranging from 10 ounces to 20 pounds. Imagine a pocket bike with a 20-pound cylinder. Now that’s a conversation starter.

While most of the available customized features don’t come cheap, remember that you can always purchase regular kit bottles and customize a little bit at a time. Once you decide to accept your need for speed, the possibilities, and the accessories, are endless.
